While reading Rick Riordan’s novel The Lightning Thief, the students realized that the monsters the young hero Percy faces and overcomes represent the daily struggles and challenges that they also face. To further decipher this metaphor, the students created a visual representation of their monsters in life.
Although these images only exist within the minds of these students, each one provides an insight for the daily struggles and challenges these young heroes must overcome on their way to graduation.
